Senior tied for 33rd entering the second round

SALEM, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University's Seth Taylor shot a one-under 71 in Monday's opening round of the 2023 NCAA Salem Regional at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls Golf Course in Salem, S.C., and finished the opening day of action tied for 33rd on the par-72, 7,126-yard layout.

Taylor had a consistent round with four birdies, three bogeys, and 11 pars for his round. He continued his solid play on the par-5 holes going two-under on the long holes. His 4.60 average on the par-5s was tied for 22nd, while his 11 total pars were tied for 19th.

The senior picked up two early birdies on holes two and three but finished the front nine with an even-par 36. He added another birdie on the 10th hole before finishing the back nine with eight consecutive pars.

Taylor is second among the individual players, trailing only Johnny Travale from UCF, who finished the first round with a three-under 68.
