Rivest Named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week

The Montreal, Quebec, native earns first conference weekly honor
NEW ORLEANS, LA. – Coastal Carolina outside hitter Jasmine Rivest was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week it was announced by the league on Tuesday. It is the first conference weekly honor for the redshirt senior.
For the weekend, Rivest tallied 55 kills and a .333 hitting percentage while averaging a double-double with 31 digs. She led the league with 6.11 kills and 6.78 points per set and helped the Chants remain undefeated in Sun Belt action on the season with a 3-1 and 3-2 win over Georgia State.
In the opening match, Rivest finished with a match-high 19 kills and 22.5 points to give Coastal Carolina its first conference win of the year.
The Montreal, Quebec, native set two Coastal Carolina volleyball records in her performance on Saturday, Sept. 24, against the Georgia State Panthers. Rivest tallied 36 kills for 38.5 points to set the record for a single match in both categories.
On the year, the outside hitter leads the Sun Belt with 4.40 kills per set and 5.11 points per set. She is ranked 14th nationally in both categories.
Coastal Carolina will return to action on Friday, Sept. 29, when it hosts the App State Mountaineers at 6 p.m. ET.
