Chants Travel to UNCG for Road Contest

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will play at UNC Greensboro on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m. ET.
 
Chant Talk
  • The 5-0 defeat to the USC Gamecocks was the Chants' largest scoring margin since their 6-1 defeat to ULM on Sept. 26, 2021.
  • CCU is yet to out-foul an opponent in a match this season. The opposition lead Coastal 62-40 in fouls.
  • All of CCU's matches have been shutouts with the Chants suffering three defeats while taking two victories.
  • Freshman Emily Petring leads the team with two goals and 11 shots.
  • Gianna Irunguray helps to gel the midfield together for the Chants. She has started in all five matches and leads the team with 429 minutes of playing time.
Last Time Out
  • The Chants were overpowered by No. 13 South Carolina as they took a 5-0 shutout loss in Columbia, S.C., on Sunday night.
  • The Gamecocks' line of defense was impenetrable as they refused to let the Chants take a single shot in the match.
  • Coastal goalkeeper Vivienne Carr made a career-high 10 saves on the night while facing 27 shots from the Gamecocks.

History Against

  • During their last matchup in August 2008, the Chants dealt with a heartbreaking loss when the Spartans scored in the 101st minute of overtime to take a 3-2 victory.
  • The Chants have never played UNCG at home.
