Box Score CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team opened its 2024 account on its home courts today, picking up a major 5-2 victory over the Wofford Terriers at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
 
The Chants dominated from the opening set, taking all three doubles matches. Junior Anna Babayan and senior Jesse Hollins continued their great run of form, defeating Wofford's Lily Woods and Grace Agster 6-2. Junior Nicole Abel and freshman Aida Maria Mitrache and seniors Cecile Morin and Kata Foldeak also added to their doubles win tally on the season by scores of 6-3 and 6-1, respectively.
 
In singles play, CCU took four of the six matchups over the Terriers, with three matches taken into the final set. Foldeak and Mitrache won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4 and 6-3, 6-1, while Babayan and Hollins were forced into three sets, outlasting Wofford's Brianna Wilbur and Woods.
 
Following the win in their home opener, the Chants will continue their homestand as they take on Presbyterian on Friday, Feb. 2 at 1 P.M. ET at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
