Stout Named SBC Offensive Player of the Week

Volleyball picks up its first weekly award of the year
NEW ORLEANS – Coastal Carolina setter Jalyn Stout was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week for her performances versus the Marshall Thundering Herd last weekend, the league office announced on Tuesday. It is the first conference weekly award for the Chants this season and the first for the sophomore in her career.
The Gainesville, Fla., native finished with 27 kills, 30 assists, and 29 digs to average a triple-double while leading the Chants to a pair of sweeps to open Sun Belt action. For the season, Stout has tallied 151 kills, 220 assists, and 151 digs.
In the opening match last Friday, the sophomore setter missed recording a triple-double by one kill as she tallied nine kills, 17 assists, and 13 digs as the Chanticleers won 3-0.
On Saturday, Stout banged out 18 kills, 13 assists, and 16 digs to record her sixth triple-double of the season and 20th of her career as Coastal picked up its sixth straight win over the Thundering Herd.
Coastal Carolina will return to the road as the Chanticleers travel to Norfolk, Va., for a two-match series with Old Dominion on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5. Friday's match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET with a 2 p.m. ET start slated for Saturday's contest.
