Chants Visit Appalachian State for Conference Matchup

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team are set to take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers on Oct. 10 at 3 p.m. ET.

After originally being relocated to Queens University in Charlotte, following Hurricane Helene, the match has now been moved back to Boone.

Chant Talk
  • The Chants have a 5-4-4, 1-1-2 Sun Belt record on the season.
  • Freshman Eleanor Ashton was named Sun Belt Player of the Week on Tuesday to mark the third time this season that the Chanticleers have achieved this feat.
  • Ashton is just the fifth Chant in program history to earn player of the week honors twice in one season.
  • The last time a Chant achieved this feat was back in 2017 when Rylee Atteberry was a three-time Defensive Player of the Week honoree.
  • Eefje Botjer tallied her first career assist last time out versus Southern Miss.
  • The Chants sit in ninth place in the overall SBC standings and place fifth in the East division.
  • Coastal is tied for first with Texas State for most saves in the Sun Belt with 55 saves.
Last Time Out
  • The Chants fought to a 1-1 tie versus the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
  • Ashton netted Coastal's fastest goal of the season at the 4:30 mark off assists from Botjer and Tamlyn Parkes to give the Chants a 1-0 lead.
  • The Golden Eagles equalized in the 19th minute when Raquelle Mitchell found the back of the net to make the score 1-1.
  • At the end of the first frame Southern Miss led 7-3 in shots and 5-2 in corner kicks.
  • During the second frame Madison Micheletti took the only shot-on-goal of the half, but couldn't make it past the keeper to conclude the match at 1-1.
