CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's basketball program will hit the road to Buies Creek, N.C. for a 7 p.m. ET tip at Campbell on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
THE SERIES
This series started back in 1975 and has seen the teams meet on the hardwood 43 times with Campbell holding a slim 23-20 edge in the series.
Campbell won the first eight games in the series and the Chants have won 20 of last 35 times they have met.
ABOUT THE CHANTS
The Chants have a balanced scoring attack with
Rasheed Jones leading the team with a 12.6 points per game average. Jones is the top three-point shooter in the Sun Belt Conference and 10th nationally hitting 52.6 percent of his three-point attempts.
Noah Amenhauser is shooting over 56 percent from the field and averages 9.7 points and a team-leading 7.0 rebounds per game.
Jordan Battle is averaging 9.3 points and has a team-high 14 assists, while
Denzel Hines is averaging 9.4 points per game.
Defensively, the Chants are second in the conference and 63rd in the nation only allowing 65.3 points per game and the opposition is only shooting 40.0 percent from the field and that includes a conference-best 22.5 percent on opponents three-point shooting, a number that is second nationally.
ABOUT CAMPBELL
Campbell enters the game with a 4-4 record and is coming off an impressive 72-66 road win over Green Bay. The Camels average
71.1 points per game and Jasin Sinani leads the team averaging 12.9 points per game.
Terren Frank runs the team with a team-best 16 assists on the season, while also averaging 8.6 points per game. Bragi Gudmundsson
is shooting 60.0 percent from the field and averages 8.4 points per game and Nolan Dorsey averages 8.1 points per game and leads
the team with 15 steals.
The Camels are aggressive on defense as evidenced by its 9.3 steals per game and 3.1 blocked shots per game. The opponents are
only averaging 65.0 points per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field.
