CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's track and field team begins its indoor season at the Clemson Opener with several top performances.
Amanda Kinloch picked up a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.32.
Paris Baker finished ninth (8.83) and
Ebba Hedberg finished 20th (9.23).
Jamie Adams finished first in the 400m finals with a time of 55.59. Two other Chants picked up top-10 finishes as
Nyela Asterilla-Anderson finished third (57.32) and
Sierra Smith was sixth (57.73).
Three Chants finished in the top-10 in the 200m finals led by
Jada McDougle in third (24.02),
Zionna Perez-Tucker was sixth (24.53) and
I'Ja Walter was seventh (24.56).
The 4x400m relay team finished fourth with Adams running the first leg with a 57.75 split. McDougle finished her run with a 1:55.39 split, followed by Perez-Tucker's split at 2:52.64 and Asterilla-Anderson running the anchor leg with a 3:50.09 split.
In the field events
Claire Spiller (12.28m) and
Kayla Ulmer (12.14m) finished second and third in the triple jump with
Maya Studney finishing ninth (11.55m).
In the high jump
Camryn Lorick (1.66m) and
Annaka Forsberg (1.66m) finished fifth and sixth, while
Brooke Fung Chung finished 10th (1.61m).
Keiran Martin finished ninth in the long jump with a leap of 5.41m, while
Ebba Hedberg was 10th with a jump of 5.39m.
The indoor track and field season will continue at the Hokie Invitational, scheduled for Jan. 24-25 at the Rector Fieldhouse in Blacksburg, Va.
