Women's Basketball Visits Georgia Southern Saturday Afternoon

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina's four-game road trip concludes Saturday as the Chanticleers head to Georgia Southern. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.


LAST TIME OUT
Coastal Carolina held Georgia State to five first-quarter points and led for over 39 minutes of play as the Chanticleers notched their fifth consecutive win over the Panthers, 60-52, on Thursday night. Arin Freeman led the Chants with 16 points while Deaja Richardson chipped in 14 points off the bench. Makaila Cange recorded nine points and a team-high 12 rebounds, while Anaya Barney and Riley Stack each tallied three blocks.
 
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND GEORGIA STATE
Coastal Carolina and Georgia State are meeting for the 16th time. Georgia Southern leads the overall series 8-7, with the Chants winning the last meeting on Feb. 1, 2024.

ABOUT COASTAL
The Chanticleers enter Wednesday's game with an 9-19 overall record and a 3-12 record in Sun Belt play. The Chants rank ninth nationally and lead the Sun Belt Conference with 22.9 free-throw attempts per game. Coastal also averages 14. offensive rebounds per game, which ranks fifth in the conference and 21st in the nation. The Chanticleers are second in the league with 376 blocks and 14.7 made free throws per contest.
 
Stack leads the league with 50 total blocks and 1.8 blocks per game. Cange ranks second in the Sun Belt with nine double-doubles this season, averaging 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per outing.
 
ABOUT GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Georgia Southern is 14-14 overall and owns a 4-11 record in league play. The Eagles lead the nation with 17.8 offensive rebounds per game and rank fourth nationally with 46.4 total rebounds per contest, second-most in the conference.
 
Terren Ward leads the Sun Belt with 15 double-doubles this season, which ranks 10th in the nation. Ward is the eighth-leading scorer in the country and the top scorer in the conference at 22.4 points per game.
