CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team returned to Conway today following a four-match road trip and defeated the SCAD-Savannah Bees in a 7-0 sweep at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
The Chants started off the match winning two of the three opening doubles decisions, taking an early 1-0 lead. Seniors Guilherme Toresan and Maj Tomac defeated SCAD's Liam Stoica and Mark Tryakshin 6-2, and Ryuya Ata and Rivers Cahill later defeated Yu Dian Dong and Adam Jaupart 6-3.
In singles, Coastal did not surrender any of the six matchups, with just one entering a third-set tiebreaker. In the fourth seeded match, Jaupart took the opening 7-5, but Toresan returned the with a 7-5 win of his own in the second set, forcing a final and decisive set. Toresan would ultimately prevail with an 11-9 final set win, giving the Chants their fifth sweep of the 2024 season.
Next up for the Chants is a trip north to Elon, N.C. to face the Elon Phoenix on Saturday, Mar. 16, starting at 2 P.M. ET.
