Women's Golf Finishes 17th at the Valspar Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished 17th at the Valspar Invitational with a 57-over 921 Sunday afternoon, at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
Hannah Karg was the low-scorer for CCU finishing tied for 47th with a seven-over 223 (75-75-73) and Sara Sarrion was tied for 52nd after shooting an eight-over 224 (72-76-76).
Varatkarn Kunkaew shot a 12-over 228 (73-74-81) and was tied for 72nd, while Luisa Gibson (81-82-85) and Isabelle Galla (79-84-85) finished tied for 91st with a 32-over 248.
Scoring was tough in today's final round as none of the 17 programs shot under par. Ole Miss won the Valspar with an eight-under 856. South Carolina and Michigan finished tied for second at 5-under 859. Auburn (+1, 865) and Florida State (+3, 867) made up the top five teams on the leaderboard.
Georgia (+7, 871) finished sixth while Clemson (+10, 874), Georgia Southern (+12, 876), Wake Forest (+15, 879), and Alabama (+16, 880) finished up the top 10.
Finishing ahead of the Chanticleers to round out the field were Oklahoma State (+18, 882), Augusta (+21, 885), South Florida (+28, 892), Furman (+30, 894), Virginia Tech (+32, 896), and Louisville (+38, 902).
The Chanticleers will be back in action March 15-17 at the Florida State Match Up.
