CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Sports Collective proudly announces its launch as the new official NIL collective, an initiative aimed at empowering student-athletes through the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) framework, with the commitment to supporting the athletes of Coastal Carolina University. While not directly affiliated with Coastal Carolina University Athletics, the Coastal Sports Collective will dedicate its service for all Coastal Carolina student-athletes to capitalize on their name, image, and likeness rights, providing them with the tools, resources, and connections. "This is transformative for our student-athletes," said CCU President Michael T. Benson. "As a University, our focus is supporting students, and having the Coastal Sports Collective as an available resource will greatly benefit CCU students navigating the NIL landscape."
Under the leadership of executive director, Jimmy Feuger and Deputy Director, Lena Schaeffner Rabon, the collective aims to assist student-athletes with the knowledge and support needed to excel in the realm of NIL opportunities. Feuger brings years of expertise as the market manager, at iHeart Media, while also serving as part of the Board of Directors for Coastal Athletic Foundation. Joining him is Rabon, a former player for the Coastal Carolina women's golf team and Hall of Fame Inductee, who brings valuable insights on brand and partnership deals from her years playing professional golf. "The launch of Coastal Sports Collective marks an exciting new chapter for Coastal Carolina University and their student-athletes. We are committed to providing our athletes with resources to succeed and we are so proud to support them as they navigate the opportunities presented through the NIL landscape" said Feuger and Rabon.
"What a monumental time to be at Coastal Carolina with the creation of The Official Coastal Sports Collective. I am extremely excited for not only the football team, but all of Coastal Carolina student-athletes, as they will be able to benefit from their name, image and likeness - thanks to the support of Teal Nation. Can't wait to see what we can accomplish. Chants Up!!" said football head coach, Tim Beck.
As this new chapter is being embarked on, it is essential to acknowledge the contributions of the previous NIL collective, The Teal Collective, and its dedicated leadership. "We are thankful for the path Brian, Patrick and Maurice have laid for us and we understand what a pivotal role they played in laying the foundation. All their efforts are sincerely appreciated," Rabon stated.
The Coastal Sports Collective is set to be a game changer for current and future student athletes at Coastal Carolina University, offering them a chance to take control of their personal brands. By providing access to industry experts and fostering partnerships with local and national business, the Collective seeks to create a supportive environment in which student athletes can thrive on and off the field. "I'm excited about the establishment of the Coastal Sports Collective and look forward to the opportunities this will provide our student athletes. The initiatives provided by this new venture will help strongly position Chanticleer Athletics within the ever-evolving NIL landscape.", said Hogue who is the VP for Intercollegiate Athletics at Coastal Carolina University.
"I am excited a new collective has been established, this will provide incredible opportunities to our student athletes. The Coastal Sports Collective will help establish our athletic department positively within our community as we try to provide the student athletes maximum resources within the structure of NIL," said Katie Quinney, the women's golf head coach.
The Coastal Sports Collective stands ready to empower student athletes and position Coastal Carolina University as a leader in supporting the next generation of athlete entrepreneurs.
