CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team (10-6, 4-2 SBC) defeated the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (4-10, 0-5 SBC) 7-0 today in part two of a Sun Belt Conference double feature this weekend at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
The Chants took down the South Alabama Jaguars 4-3 yesterday in the first match of a Sun Belt weekend doubleheader at home.
Today, CCU swept Southern Miss 7-0, giving Coastal their 10th win of the season and their fourth in Sun Belt Conference play. The Chants opened the match by taking the doubles point with No. 1 seed Anna Babayan and Jesse Hollins and No. 3 seed Nicole Abel and Brooke Rogers winning 6-4 and 6-1, respectively.
In singles, Coastal won all six matchups, each ending in straight sets. Hollins and senior Kata Foldeak once again extended their singles winning streaks to nine and five with their wins today. Babayan, Cecile Morin and Aida Maria Mitrache each added a singles win to the home tally with Abel capping off the outright victory with a win by retirement.
The Chants are back at home on Friday, Apr. 5, as they take on ULM at 10 A.M. ET in their penultimate match at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
