TAMPA, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team concluded the Tampa Invite with a 5-0 loss to No. 4 Florida State and a 4-1 win over Houston Christian on Saturday

In their second match of the season against the Seminoles, the Chants'
Madie Lichty and
Denisse Morgenstern won the first set on court five before Florida State rallied for a 17-21, 21-15, 16-14 win en route to a sweep.
Match 2: Coastal Carolina 4, Houston Christian 1
Against Houston Christian, Coastal erased an early 1-0 deficit with four consecutive wins.
Madison Allred and
Raychel Ehlers held off HCU on court five for a 21-17, 18-21, 15-9 win, and No. 1 pair
Martine Kragholm and
Sarah Riedell put the Chanticleers ahead for good with a 21-19, 21-17 straight-set victory.
Julia Blazek and
Emma Plutnicki secured the match at the No. 2 flight with a 21-13, 21-15 win and
Ellie Hanford and
Emma Kunaus closed the day with a comeback win on court three, 20-22, 21-16, 15-8.
The Sandy Chants host their first tournament of the season next weekend as Coastal will face Tusculum and Central Arkansas on Mar. 15-16.
