Marshall added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring on a pair of RBI singles to double its lead at 4-1.

In the top of the fifth inning, Coastal narrowed the gap to 4-2 when Keith laced an RBI double to right-center field to score Libby Pippin.

The Thundering Herd continued to fire in the bottom of the fifth inning when Michallas belted a three-run home run over the left-field wall and Brooklyn Ulrich smashed her third double of the day to extend the lead to 9-2.

The Chants continued to fight in the top of the fifth inning when pinch hitter Lucy Goodwin crushed a two-run single to center field to make the score 9-4, but Marshall was able to hold on for the win.
