CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team (7-11, 2-4 SBC) closed out their conference home slate today in a 4-1 loss to the Old Dominion Monarchs at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Old Dominion claimed the doubles point, despite CCU winning the third-seeded matchup with Rivers Cahill and Eric Tripathi defeating ODU's Maxime Mareschal-Hay and Yanis Moundir 6-3.
The Chants started singles play strong, winning the opening set in four of the six matches. After taking the first set, Tripathi secured Coastal's lone point of the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-3 win over the Monarchs' No. 6 seed Jakcob Cadonau. Along with Tripathi, Lucas Wayenburg, Maj Tomac and Juan Cruz Collardin each won their first sets. ODU would go on to win the following three singles points to end the match with a 4-1 win on the road.
Next up for CCU is a non-conference meeting with the Mount Olive Trojans on Wednesday, Apr. 10 in a senior day matchup at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
