LEXINGTON, KY. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's outdoor track and field teams have completed competition at the NCAA East Regionals in Lexington, Ky, marking their final meet of the 2024 outdoor season.
The Chants sent 11 athletes to Lexington for this week's national preliminary event. After qualifying for the quarterfinals in the men's 110m hurdles and the 400m events, seniors Braydon Bennett and Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year Genson Hooper Price finished 23rd and 16th, respectively, with Hooper Price finishing just four spots out of a top-12 placements and a spot in the National Championships in Eugene, Ore. The men's 4x400m also competed in the quarterfinals in the final event of day three, finishing 22nd with a 3:08.37 final time.
On the women's side, senior Molly Jones competed in the 10k semifinals, but did not finish. Junior Camryn Lorick and freshman Ebba Hedberg featured in the first round of the high jump event, finishing 27th and 48th, respectively. Sophomore Claire Spiller also placed 34th in the first round of the triple jump.
Junior Amanda Kinloch finished as the top overall finisher for Coastal this week, placing 13th in the women's 100m hurdles with a 13.21 final time, just two spots out of a national qualifying position.
