Lopez to Join Women’s Basketball in 2024-25

The 6-2 center from Spain played in the Catalan League
CONWAY, S.C. – Martina Lopez will join the 2024-25 Coastal Carolina women's basketball as announced by head coach Kevin Pederson on Wednesday.
"We were excited to make Martina the final addition to our 24-25 roster," Pederson stated. "Martina has had a lot of success playing in Europe and she gives us much needed depth at the post position where we believe she can develop into an outstanding player. She is a great person that we believe has a lot to contribute to this team on and off the court."
A 6-2 center from Barcelona, Spain, Lopez competed in the Catalan League from her second year playing with her school. She was named the MVP of Unio esportiva Mataro. In her three years in the Catalan League, her team won the silver medal in the Championship Catalonia in the U-16, U-17, and U-18 divisions. Lopez averaged 8.0 points per game while grabbing 12.0 rebounds per contest in her final season in the Catalan League.
