CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers' head coach Kevin Schnall has announced the hiring of former student manager Matt Pepin as the director of analytics for the Chants.
 
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to return to Conway and work with such a talented coaching staff," commented Pepin. "I cannot thank Coach Schnall enough for the opportunity to help get Coastal back to Omaha. There is nowhere else I would rather begin my career than back in Teal."
 
"His recent work at Coastal as a student manager has demonstrated his tireless work ethic and the significant value he brings to our program," stated Schnall. "To succeed in college baseball, it is essential to provide student-athletes and coaches with all the analytical data they need to perform at their best. Matt is as good as anyone I have ever worked with in providing useful data, and we could not be more excited about him joining us full-time."
 
As a student manager, Pepin managed the nine-person analytics and video staff, providing data for the coaching staff and players, including scouting reports, positioning reports, player development insights, and breaking down film throughout the season. Pepin graduated in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in recreation and sport management.
