VASKO MAKES A STATEMENT
• After earning the start in the season opener, quarterback Ethan Vasko picked up where he left off in 2023.

• Vasko accounted for 288 total yards and three total touchdowns in Coastal's 55-27 win at Jacksonville State.

• The redshirt sophomore earned his first Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week award, completing 12-of-19 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 12 times for 39 yards and one score.

• His 249 yards passing and his 63.2 percent completion percentage were both the second-highest marks during his tenure as Coastal's starter.

GROUND AND POUND
• Coastal's rushing attack racked up 294 yards on the ground in the season-opening win at Jacksonville State.

• The 294 yards were the most for the Chants in a single game since Nov. 26, 2021, when Coastal ran for 315 yards in a win over South Alabama.

FINDING THE END ZONE
• Coastal Carolina's defense opened the 2024 season with its fourth touchdown of the past two years.

• Defensive lineman Will Whitson's strip sack in the first quarter against Jacksonville State was recovered by fellow defensive lineman Clev Lubin, who returned the loose ball 17 yards for a score.

MONEY DOWN DOMINANCE
• Coastal held Jacksonville State to just 1-of-9 on third-down conversions in the season opener.

• The performance marked the fewest third-down conversions allowed by the Chanticleers since Oct. 31, 2020, when Coastal held Georgia State to a 1-of-10 showing on third down.

GRAY'S PLACE IN THE RECORD BOOK
Liam Gray became Coastal Carolina's career touchback leader against Jacksonville State, breaking Josh Hoke's record of 62.

• Gray enters Saturday's contest with 68 career touchbacks.

TWICE AS NICE
Braydon Bennett rushed for a pair of touchdowns in Coastal's victory over Jacksonville State, becoming the first Chanticleer to rush for two touchdowns in a single game since Reese White against Southern Miss on Nov. 12, 2022.

• The game marked Bennett's third career contest with two rushing scores and his first since he ran for two touchdowns in Coastal's win over Northern Illinois in the 2021 Tailgreeter Cure Bowl.

TRAY TIME
• Wide receiver Tray Taylor made an enormous impact in his first game as a Chanticleer, leading Coastal with 98 yards receiving on three receptions with a 36-yard touchdown.

• Taylor also hauled in a 59-yard catch, the longest reception for Coastal since Jared Brown's 59-yarder last season against Army.

CLEV CAUSES MAYHEM
• Defensive lineman Clev Lubin forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, and returned a fumble for a touchdown in his Chanticleer debut last Saturday.

• Lubin became the first Chant to recover a fumble and return a fumble for a touchdown in the same game since Abraham Temoney III against Georgia State last season and the first to force a fumble and recover a fumble in the same game since Emmanuel Johnson last year at Army.

SCOUTING THE TRIBE OF WILLIAM & MARY
• William & Mary opened the season with a 41-7 win over VMI last Saturday.

• Head coach Mike London has led an FCS team to three wins over FBS foes, including a 2022 win over Charlotte with William & Mary.

• The Tribe are looking to start the season 2-0 for the third consecutive year.

• W&M enters Saturday's game ranked No. 13 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll and No. 14 in the AFCA FCS Coaches' Top 25 Poll, giving the Tribe a national ranking for the fourth consecutive season.

• W&M owns an 34-7 record during the last seven seasons in games in which it scored more than 20 points, including a 23-4 mark in the last four seasons.

• During the last seven seasons, W&M is 23-4 when it commits fewer turnovers than its opponents, while it is 4-15 when it loses the turnover battle during the recent stretch.

• Dating back to the 2014 season, the Tribe has won 37 of its last 44 games when leading at halftime.

• W&M owns a 54-6 record when leading after three quarters since the start of the 2013 season.

SERIES SNAPSHOT WITH WILLIAM & MARY
• Saturday marks the first meeting ever between the Chanticleers and Tribe.
