COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team suffered a 5-0 defeat to the No. 20-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia, S.C., on Sunday afternoon.
- The Gamecocks secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.
- The pairing of Aida Mitrache and Sarah Clark led 4-3 in the No. 2 doubles position before the point was clinched.
- South Carolina swept the Chants in singles action, 4-0.
- In singles play, Anna Babayan held off No. 17-ranked Sarah Hamner to an unfinished match on court No. 1.
The Chants remain on the road to take on the Campbell Camels on Feb. 2. First serve is set for 1 p.m. ET.
