CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina junior
Rasheed Jones received the first preseason honor of his career as he was voted Second Team All-Sun Belt ahead of the 2025-26 campaign by the conference's 14 head coaches, the league announced Monday. As a team, the Chanticleers were picked to finish 13th in the coaches' poll.
Jones averaged 11.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 31.0 minutes per game in his first season with the Chanticleers a year ago. He ranked second on the team in scoring, three-point field goals made (66) and assists (66), and started 29 of 32 games played.
He scored in double figures in 20 games, topped 20 points four times and made three or more three-pointers in 12 contests. Jones shot 34.0 percent (66-of-194) from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent (56-of-70) from the free-throw line.
The Chanticleers are coming off a 13th-place finish in the Sun Belt in 2024-25, compiling a 10-22 overall record and a 3-15 mark in conference play. The team has since added nine newcomers in the offseason, headlined by graduate transfers

Braeden MacVicar also returns alongside Jones after sitting out the 2024-25 campaign.
Coastal Carolina will open the 2025-26 season on the road against Western Michigan on Nov. 3 before hosting Virginia University of Lynchburg in its home opener on Nov. 8.
