ATLANTA – Coastal Carolina's volleyball team extended its winning streak to five matches with a straight-set sweep of Georgia State (25-22, 25-18, 27-25) Thursday night at the GSU Sports Arena. It was the Chanticleers' third consecutive sweep and their fourth in the last five matches.
Coastal improved to 12-4 overall and 5-0 in Sun Belt play, while Georgia State fell to 10-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
Emily Fowler paced CCU with a match-high 14 kills and six total blocks for 17.5 points.
Jalyn Stout recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 17 assists, and also added seven digs.
Ava Wallis distributed 23 assists (team high) and chipped in seven digs.
Bailee Earnhardt also recorded seven digs.
For Georgia State, Akira Burt led the offense with 11 kills, Emily Hardin logged 18 assists, and Marta Lazzarin contributed 12 digs.

• Set One: Fowler, Stout, and
Emma Van Elslande each tallied a kill in a 6-3 closing run to seal a 25-22 frame. CCU built an early 10-6 lead; Georgia State tied at 15 and again at 19, but Coastal never trailed.

Set Two: After leading by one, Coastal closed out the set on a 7-1 run to win 25-18. Wallis' service ace capped a 4-0 spurt.
Anna Rita and Van Elslande combined on a block to force set point, and a Panthers' attack error ended the set.

Set Three: The final frame went to extra points after CCU denied Georgia State's set point bid. Fowler clinched the match with back-to-back kills, giving Coastal a 27-25 win and the sweep.
