Volleyball Sweeps South Alabama To End Losing Streak

CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina turned in one of its most efficient offensive performances of the season Friday night, sweeping South Alabama (25–20, 25–20, 25–20) at the HTC Center to snap a four-match losing streak.
The Chanticleers (17–10, 9–6 Sun Belt) hit .400 as a team and never trailed by more than two points in any set, using steady pressure at the net and a balanced attack to take the first of two meetings with the Jaguars (14–12, 9–6 Sun Belt) this weekend.
Jalyn Stout delivered another standout all-around performance, posting 14 kills on .591 hitting while adding 15 assists and 12 digs for her 11th triple-double of the season. Coastal's offense ran efficiently behind setters Stout and Ava Wallis, who combined for 32 assists as the Chants totaled 45 kills against just seven errors — their fewest in a match this season.
Stout committed just one attack error on 22 swings and steered an offense that had five players hit above .300.
Emma Van Elslande added nine kills on a .444 clip, while Anzley Rinard delivered seven kills while hitting .500. Emily Fowler and Anna Rita chipped in six kills and four blocks apiece.
Coastal also controlled the match defensively, out-blocking the Jaguars 8–1 and holding them to a .206 hitting percentage. South Alabama leaned heavily on outside hitter Cambria Gaier, who accounted for 16 of the team's 37 kills.
Five service aces further tilted momentum in Coastal's favor, and the Chants converted more than 62 percent of their sideout opportunities across the match.
Coastal Carolina closes the regular season Saturday against South Alabama at 2 p.m. inside the HTC Center. Graduate Kibi Huggins and seniors Bailee Earnhardt and Leah Olsen will be recognized before the match.
