CONWAY, S.C. – High school seniors Jordan Buzzard and Nathaniel "Q" Williams have each signed a financial aid agreement to attend and play basketball at Coastal Carolina University in the 2026-27 season, head coach
Justin Gray announced Monday.
"We're really excited to bring two talented young men from the Carolinas into our program," Gray said. "Both are sons of coaches, so they see the game at a high level, and both embody our Coastal edge. Anytime we can add players like that to our roster, we want to take full advantage."
Gray stayed close to his roots with the signing of Williams from Forsyth Country Day School near Winston-Salem. The 5-foot-9 guard starred on the AAU circuit with Team CP3 and is a two-time all-state selection. Williams earned the 2024-25 Piedmont Triad Athletic Conference Player of the Year honor and has scored more than 1,500 career points.
He averaged 19 points, six assists and four rebounds per game as a junior, helping Forsyth Country Day reach the semifinals of the 4A NCISAA state championship—a year after guiding the Furies to the NCISAA 3A title.
"Q is an electric point guard with a huge heart," Gray said. "He plays with great energy, discipline and grit. He gets the ball where guys need it, he can score it; he impacts the game in so many different ways."
Buzzard enrolled at Carmel Christian School for his senior year after spending his first three seasons at East Mecklenburg in Charlotte. As a junior, he earned Second Team All-Charlotte Mecklenburg School Southwestern 4A honors after averaging 11.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while playing varsity basketball for his father, Jason Buzzard.
The 6-foot-8 forward also competed with Upward Stars 3SSB.
"Jordan is just scratching the surface of what he can become," Gray said. "He's a big with guard skills—a versatile player who rebounds it, passes it, and makes plays for others. He's a really good athlete, and we're thrilled to add him to our program."
Buzzard and Williams are the first two signees of Coastal Carolina's 2026-27 class.
