MACOMB, Ill. —
AJ Dancler poured in a game-high 31 points to lead Coastal Carolina to a 75–58 win over North Dakota on Saturday night at Western Hall in its final game of the Western Illinois MTE.
Dancler shot 11 of 16 from the field and knocked down six 3-pointers while adding seven rebounds and five assists as the Chanticleers (4–2) closed out the tournament with a strong offensive showing.
Coastal led 41–30 at halftime after shooting 42 percent in the opening period and then pulled away behind a 12-for-22 second half in which it hit six more threes. RaSheed Jones added 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and
Nadjrick Peat scored seven on 3-of-4 shooting.
The Chanticleers outscored the Fighting Hawks 32–20 in the paint. Coastal also limited North Dakota (2–5) to just 16 made field goals on 24.6 percent shooting.
Greyson Uelmen led UND with 13 points, while Eli King added 12 and Marley Curtis posted a 10-rebound effort. The Hawks stayed within reach by making 22 of 34 free throws but were 4 of 26 from beyond the arc.
The Chanticleers conclude their trip to the Land of Lincoln on Sunday, Nov. 23, at Illinois State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
