NORMAL, Ill. — Illinois State poured in 55 first-half points and defeated Coastal Carolina 94–42 on Sunday at CEFCU Arena.

The Redbirds knocked down 13 3-pointers and shot 49 percent overall while forcing 10 turnovers and holding the Chanticleers to 3-for-28 from beyond the arc. Ty Pence and Ty'Reek Coleman each scored 16 points to lead five Illinois State players in double figures. Jack Daugherty added 14, and the Redbirds' bench outscored Coastal 35–19.

Joshua Beadle scored 11 points to pace Coastal Carolina (4–3), which got seven points and seven rebounds from Tristan Thompson. The Chanticleers managed just four assists on 18 made field goals and were out-rebounded 48–31.

The Chanticleers return to action Sunday, Nov. 30, inside the HTC Center against Alabama A&M. Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 3:30 p.m.
