CONWAY — Coastal Carolina women's basketball (5-4) defeated Gardner-Webb 108-57 on Sunday afternoon at the HTC Center. It was Coastal's third game of the season where they've scored more than 100 points.
GAME RECAP
The Chants took a 42-24 lead into halftime, helped by 13 points from
Kinsea Grimes across the first two periods. Coastal exploded in the third quarter, scoring 40 points, a school-record for most points in a single quarter. The Chants made 14 of their 17 shots and all six three-point attempts in the third, while also making six free throws. Coastal scored 26 more points in the fourth to secure the victory.
COASTAL LEADERS
Grimes led the Chants in scoring with 25, her third 20+ point performance of the season. The freshman also collected 11 rebounds to secure her first career double-double.
Tracey Hueston joined her with a season-highs in points (23) and rebounds (12) for her second double-double of the season.
Tessa Grady (16),
Kristin Williams (14) and
Tateyoina Harris (14) also scored in double figures.
