Jacksonville, Fla. — Coastal Carolina women's basketball (5-5) lost to Jacksonville 68-51 on Saturday afternoon at Swisher Gymnasium.
GAME RECAP
The Chants got off to a slow start, going just 3-17 from the field in the first quarter as the Dolphins ended the period with a 16-9 lead. The shooting struggles continued as Jacksonville lengthened their lead to 36-20 at half. Coastal's shooting improved in the third quarter, going 8-15 and 3-5 from three-point range as they outscored the Dolphins 21-18 in the frame. The Chants would not get closer than 10 in the fourth, falling 68-51.
COASTAL LEADERS
After starting off cold,
Tessa Grady finished as the only Chant in double figures scoring with 14 points.
Kristin Williams added eight points along with nine rebounds and four assists. Overall, Coastal shot 28 percent from the field (18-65) and 24 percent from three (8-33) while making seven of their 12 free-throw attempts.
