CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina football placed eight student-athletes on the Pro Football and Sports Network (PFSN) All-Sun Belt Conference teams, the outlet announced Thursday.
Offensive linemen Nick Del Grande and Zac Elam led the way for the Chanticleers, with both earning spots on the All-Sun Belt First Team.
Four additional Chants received Second Team recognition from PFSN: offensive linemen Thomas Johnson and Joseph Hanson, defensive end Zeke Campbell, and defensive back Myles Woods. Rounding out Coastal Carolina's honorees were offensive lineman Julius Tate and defensive back Xamarion Gordon, who were each selected to the All-Sun Belt Third Team.
The announcement comes just one week after six Chanticleers were honored on the official All-Sun Belt postseason teams. In those awards, defensive back Xamarion Gordon was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team Defense, while defensive end Zeke Campbell earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt Third Team Defense. Offensive linemen Joseph Hanson and Thomas Johnson, kick returner Malcolm Gillie, and kicker Kian Afrookhteh all received honorable mention recognition.
Coastal Carolina finished the regular season 6-6 overall and 5-3 in Sun Belt play. The Chanticleers will conclude their season at the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl against Louisiana Tech on Dec. 30 in Shreveport, La.
