CONWAY — Coastal Carolina women's basketball (6-7) fell to Georgia State (5-8) 68-63 in their second Sun Belt game on Saturday at the HTC Center. The Chanticleers dropped to 0-2 in conference play with the loss.
GAME RECAP
Coastal outscored Georgia State 17-9 in the first quarter thanks to four three-pointers. The Panthers went on a run in the second, outscoring the Chants 18-11 as Coastal led at halftime 28-27. Georgia State would take a lead off a three-pointer to open up the second half and stretched their lead to seven in the third quarter. Coastal found themselves down by nine with 1:13 to play before scoring 10 points in 43 seconds to cut the lead to 64-63 with 30 seconds left. The Panthers would score the final four points to finish the 68-63 win.
COASTAL LEADERS
Kristin Williams led all scorers with 21 points off seven made three's.
Tessa Grady posted 12 points and
Paige Bradley provided 11 along with 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. As a team, Coastal shot 38-percent from the field and 32-percent from long-range while making seven of 13 free throw attempts.
