Box Score Shreveport, La. – Coastal Carolina opened the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl with a strong first half but fell 23–14 to Louisiana Tech on Tuesday afternoon at Independence Stadium.
The Chanticleers struck first in the opening quarter when quarterback Tad Hudson connected with Dominic Knicely on a 20-yard touchdown pass to cap a crisp opening drive. Coastal continued to build momentum in the second quarter, as Hudson found Robby Washington in the end zone from 16 yards out to give the Chanticleers a 14–3 lead heading into halftime.
Hudson finished the afternoon with over 300 passing yards, joining Grayson McCall as the only Coastal quarterbacks in program history to reach that mark in a bowl game. Bryson Graves led the receiving corps with team-high totals in both receptions and yards, while the Chanticleers' defense recorded four takeaways.
