TROY, Ala. — Tayton Conerway scored a game-high 21 points and added eight assists to lead Troy past Coastal Carolina, 83-66, on Saturday at Trojan Arena.

The game was tied 33-33 at halftime before Troy (18-10, 11-5 Sun Belt) surged in the second half, outscoring Coastal Carolina 50-33. Conerway was nearly flawless after halftime, hitting 8-of-9 shots and finishing 9-of-12 from the field overall.

Thomas Dowd added 18 points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Trojans, while Myles Rigsby contributed 20 points, going 6-of-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.

Coastal Carolina (9-20, 2-14 Sun Belt) was led by Noah Amenhauser, who posted 24 points and eight rebounds. RaSheed Jones added 14 points and Josh Meo chipped in 11.

Despite shooting a respectable 41.1% from the field, the Chanticleers struggled to contain Troy's efficient offense, which shot 52.7% and outscored Coastal 32-24 in the paint. Troy also got a big lift from its bench, which outscored Coastal's reserves 40-6.

The Chanticleers kept it close early, leading by as many as six in the first half, but the Trojans used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to take control. Troy's largest lead was 17 points with under three minutes remaining.

Coastal Carolina returns home next week to close out the regular season facing Georgia State on Wednesday and Old Dominion on Friday with both games tipping at 7:30 p.m. ET from HTC Center.
