CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team earned its first Sun Belt Conference win, defeating the Troy Trojans 4-2 on Sunday at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
- Due to forecasted inclement weather, singles play was conducted first, and doubles matches were abandoned.
- The Trojans took an early 1-0 lead as Luciano Alcocer defeated Iannis Fernandes 6-1, 6-3 on court six.
- Christopher Norlin evened the score at 1-1 with a straight-sets victory at the No. 1 spot.
- Troy regained the lead at 2-1 after Hiiro Sakamoto secured a 6-3, 6-4 win on court four.
- Coastal responded by winning the remaining three matches, all of which went to three sets, to clinch the 4-2 victory.
- The Chanticleers will hit the road to face James Madison on March 21 in Harrisonburg, Va.
