CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team defeated the Elon Phoenix 5-2 on Tuesday morning at the Stevens Tennis Complex to improve to 9-4 on the season.
- After dropping the first doubles match on court two, the Chants rallied to pick up wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts to secure the doubles point.
- Coastal extended its lead to 3-0 after Brunelle Kouam and Anna Babayan claimed singles wins on courts No. 3 and No. 1, respectively.
- Elon reduced the deficit to 3-1 when Helen Sarikulaya won on court 2, but the Chants extended their lead with wins on courts No. 5 and No. 6.
- The Phoenix won the final match on court 4, but the Chanticleers ultimately secured the 5-2 victory.
- The Chanticleers will be back in action on March 22 when they travel to take on Arkansas State at 10 a.m.
