Women’s Tennis Wins Two on Sunday

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team picked up two wins at the Stevens Tennis Complex on Sunday. The Chanticleers defeated the UNCW Seahawks 5-2 and shut out the SCAD Bees 4-0.

UNCW vs. Coastal
  • CCU started the day strong, taking the doubles point with wins on courts No. 1 and 2.
  • UNCW won the first singles match on court No. 5 to level the score at 1-1.
  • The next three singles victories went in favor of the Chanticleers on courts No. 1, 2, and 4 to make the score 4-1.
  • Nicole Abel won in three sets on court No. 3, while Katya Hersh lost on court No. 6 to bring the final score to 5-2.
SCAD vs. Coastal
  • The pairing of Aida Mitrache and Brunelle Kouam, along with the duo of Brooke Rogers and Sarah Clark, won on courts No. 2 and 3 to claim the doubles point.
  • Kouam recorded an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 spot.
  • Anna Babayan and Rogers won in straight sets on courts No. 1 and No. 6, respectively, to complete the 4-0 shutout.
