Coastal Carolina baseball continues its longest road trip of the season Tuesday, heading to play No. 3 Clemson at 6 p.m. ET and Texas State (March 28-30) before returning home to play a return game with Campbell next Tuesday, April 1 at 6 p.m. inside Springs Brooks Stadium ... RHP Luke Jones (0-1, 4.63 ERA) will make his second start of the campaign and is opposed by LHP Noah Samol (0-0, 0.00) ... Clemson carries an 18-2 home mark and beat Wake Forest in 2-of-3 over the weekend ... Coastal is 17-7 after going 2-2 last week against Campbell and Troy.
STREAKS, STORYLINES, SIDEBARS ...
- Coastal Carolina is 4-4 on the road this season headed into this week's games at No 3. Clemson and Texas State.
- The Chanticleers won one of three games at Troy last weekend. After opening the Troy series with an emphatic 11–3 win, Coastal dropped the final two games by a combined five runs. The Chants are hitting .281 and have a 3.92 ERA and .970 fielding percentage.
- Walker Mitchell is hitting .361, Ty Dooley is batting .351 and Blake Barthol leads the team in homers (5) and RBIs (21).
- Dominick Carbone made two appearances last week, going five and two-thirds innings and finishing 1-0 with 10 strikeouts and a save.
- Caden Bodine topped the charts, hitting .400 in four games. He had four hits with four RBIs, three walks, two sac fly's and took six total bases.
- TURN TWO: CCU's 21 double plays leads the SBC and is No. 20 nationally.
- OUCH!: Coastal batters have been struck by pitches 56 times in 2025, leading the Sun Belt but short of Winthrop's NCAA lead of 73.
- PRODUCTION AT THE TOP: Dean Mihos' 1.17 runs per game is third in the Sun Belt and his 28 runs scored sits fourth.
- AND THE BOTTOM: Ty Dooley's .351 average is second on the team and he has 20 hits, five double and three home runs to his credit from the 9-hole.
- WHIP it: Despite taking his first loss of the season on Sunday at Troy, hurler Riley Eikhoff is third in the SBC in WHIP (0.99) and fourth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.20).
- PACKING THE PALACE: Coastal Carolina has drawn an average of 2,698 fans per game this season, totaling 35,084 across all home games at Springs Brooks Stadium, ranking No. 29 nationally and third in the SBC.
