CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team was edged 4-3 by James Madison on Saturday afternoon at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
- The Chanticleers jumped out to an early lead after the pairing of Sarah Clark and Katya Hersh clinched the doubles point on court two, making the score 1-0.
- Brunelle Kouam extended Coastal's lead to 2-0 with a straight-sets victory, 6-4, 6-0, at the No. 3 spot.
- The Dukes battled back, as Corinna Rietmann earned a win on court six, followed by Mia Saveljic completing a 4-6, 6-0, 6-0 comeback over Hersh on court five to even the score at 2-2.
- Senior Anna Babayan regained the lead for the Chants, claiming a 6-3, 7-5 win on court one.
- The final two matches on courts four and two went the distance, but the Chanticleers came up just short in both three-set thrillers.
- Coastal Carolina will wrap up its season at the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Rome, Georgia, on April 23.
