MADISON, Miss. – The Coastal Carolina men's golf team is in third place at the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championships after first round play was suspended with eight teams left to finish on a dreary Monday at the Annandale Golf Club.
The remaining groups will complete round one beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday before sound round play begins. CCU – one of six teams in the field to complete its first round – stands alone in third place at 3-under par 285. Arkansas State finished the first round with a team-leading 10-under par 278, while James Madison is in second place at 4-under par but hasn't completed its first round.
CCU freshman
Drew Sykes posted the Chanticleers' low round of the day, carding a 3-under 69, and was tied for fourth place when play was suspended. Senior
Trace McDonald was in 11th at 1-under 71 and junior
Max Bengtsson was tied for 19th at even-par.
Sophomore
Jack Lee carded a 1-over 73 and was tied for 29th when play was halted while senior
Trey Crenshaw was tied for 45th at 3-over 75.
