AUSTIN, Texas – Coastal Carolina softball pitcher Nicolette Picone has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
 
Picone has been the epitome of a student-athlete maintaining a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA throughout her collegiate career while excelling on the mound. The senior right-hander earned four Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week honors, was named the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year, selected to the All-Sun Belt First Team, and tabbed the Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2025. She also received the prestigious SBC Elite Award, given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA competing on the final day of the Sun Belt Conference championship.
 
A native of Bethpage, N.Y., Picone graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in pre-health professions. She will continue her education at Stony Brook University, where she plans to pursue a doctorate in occupational therapy.
