CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina women's soccer head coach Jo Chubb announced the signing of six new student-athletes to the 2025 fall roster on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chants will welcome six freshmen in Sofia Gartner, Marin Fisher, Caitlyn Britt, Petra Helmeczi, Jasmine Ouatu, and Haley Best. They will join the new additions of Matilda Larsson, Sophie Redner, Linden Perry, Leah Crotty, and Cansu Kara who joined in the spring.

"We are thrilled to officially welcome the 2025 recruiting class to Conway. This group brings a strong blend of talent that complements the experience and quality already within our program," stated Chubb. "Throughout the recruiting process, we were intentional in identifying players whose skill sets and versatility would not only elevate the level of daily competition but also strengthen our depth and adaptability across the pitch. We believe this class will enhance our ability to meet the demands of every match, both this season and beyond."

Sofia Gartner

A multisport athlete who lettered in both soccer and track & field, Gartner earned back-to-back Greater Middlesex County Conference titles in 2023 and 2024 and won the Central Group 4 State Sectionals in 2024. A three-time Red Division champion (2022, 2023, 2024), she was named the Greater Middlesex Player of the Year and earned All-Group 4 first team honors in 2024. The Monroe Township, N.J., native was selected to the 2024 all-state second team and ranked among the top 20 players in the Central Region by the New Jersey Coaches Association.

Chubb on Gartner: "Sofia is an incredibly versatile, defensive player, but with an extensive ability to push the attack and help our verticality and progression of the ball. She is very comfortable in possession and will be one we depend on to help us build and keep the ball. She is extremely athletic and lets us more aggressive in the way we defend. We are extremely excited to see Sofia on the field in the fall."

Marin Fisher

A four-year letterwinner at Morristown High School, Fisher played a key role in capturing the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference title in 2024 and helped lead her team to the 2024-25 National Division Championship. The Livingston, N.J., native was a three-time first team all-conference selection from 2022 to 2024 and earned all-county honors each year, being named to the first team in 2023 and 2024, and second team in 2022. In 2024, she was also selected to the ECNL U17 North Atlantic All-Conference second team and received third team All-Group 4 recognition.

Chubb on Fisher: "Marin is an extremely versatile player, with the ability to play anywhere in a wide area. Her physical attributes, combined with her technical ability, give her the tools to integrate into our style of play with ease. She has attributes that we currently do not possess and so gives us an added ability to be a little less predictable. We are incredibly excited to get to work with Marin!"

Caitlyn Britt

A four-year letterwinner and two-year team captain at Wake Forest High School, Britt capped off a decorated career with numerous accolades. She earned back-to-back all-conference honors in 2024 and 2025 and was named to the all-state team in 2025. A two-time all-region selection, she also garnered recognition as a 2025 Gatorade Player of the Year nominee and All-American candidate. That same year, she was selected to the All-Mid Atlantic Team and broke Wake Forest High Schools single season record for both goals (31) and points (64).

Chubb on Britt "Caitlyn is a high school standout and proven goal scorer at every level she plays. Her technical ability, ball striking ability, and positional awareness make her a handful for any defense playing against her. She is a true team player who relentlessly works for her team both on and off the ball. She will provide so many additional attacking options for us in the fall. We cannot wait to get started." 

Petra Helmeczi

Helmeczi is an international signee from Debrecen, Hungary where she played for both the U17 and U19 national team. The defender was named player of the year by her club team during the 2021-22 season and helped lead the team to two championship titles.

Chubb on Helmeczi: "Petra is an extremely intelligent and extremely gifted left footed defensive player, providing us excellent balance at the back. This will allow us to be versatile in the way that we build and the way we defend. She comes with national team experience and a fantastic desire to develop herself and the team. We are so excited to welcome Petra all the way from Hungary."

Jasmine Ouatu

The Nutley, N.J., native, Ouatu, is a four-time conference and sectional state champion (2021–2024) who helped lead her team to three straight county championship titles from 2022 to 2024. The midfielder earned first team all-conference honors all four years and was named to the all-county first team in 2021, 2023, and 2024. She also earned all-state recognition in both 2023 and 2024 and was a two-time North Jersey Player of the Year nominee. Holding the DePaul Catholic High School record with 61 career goals, she has competed internationally as a member of the U19 Romanian women's national team since 2023.

Chubb on Ouatu: "Jaz is another player with national team experience and an incredibly high soccer IQ. Her technical ability allows her to play and escape in small spaces, making her incredibly difficult to defend against. She is also a set piece specialist which gives us competition within the team and an additional scoring and attacking threat in matches. She works incredibly hard on both sides of the ball and emulates the idea of "team first" whenever she plays. We cannot wait for her to arrive in Conway."

Haley Best

A Clinton, N.C., native, Best reached the Sweet 16 of the 2023 ECNL National Playoffs in San Diego and guided her team to the semifinals of the 2023 2A State Playoffs. The goalkeeper has helped lead her team to a runner-up finish in the 2022 2A State Championship and has competed for the NC Courage Academy from 2018 to 2025.

Chubb on Best: "Haley is another goalkeeper we our adding to our goalkeeping unit. She comes from an excellent club background, and one that uses their goalkeepers similarly to the way we do in the build so we expect her to acclimate and settle quickly. Her intelligence in goal, and ability to read and dictate the game really set her apart and will be huge attributes for us to add in the fall. We are excited for her arrival!"
