Women’s Golf 2025-26 Season Preview

"Everyone has to do their part and work really hard."
After being one of the four teams remaining by reaching the match play round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in April, the Coastal women's golf team is reaching higher for the 2025-26 campaign.
"They're talented, they've worked hard," said head coach Katie Quinney, entering her 19th season in Conway. "I think they understand the team culture and they understand how I like things done."
Going into the new season, the Chants have experience on their side. The roster features four returning players, including junior Varatkarn Kunkaew, who finished 10th individually in the Sun Belt Tournament. Sophomore Ella Murray also returns after an impressive freshman season that saw her named the Sun Belt Women's Golfer of the Week in April after placing fourth in the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge. Senior Kylie Bowes and sophomore Aoife Devaney also return to the team.
"They'll be ready to push us forward into the future," Quinney said.
With that experience comes familiarity with the schedule. The Chants played at seven courses last year that will be featured this season.
"The fact that most of the lineup will have seen every course and have had some pretty good success will be a big step in the right direction," Quinney said.
Along with players that have been in the program, the Chants also added Texas State-transfer Carla Bourdeaux, who competed in 10 of the 11 tournaments last season and helped the Bobcats win the conference title in 2024.
North Greenville-transfer Aubrey Merryman along with freshmen Anna Brehm and Kate Ryan help round out the roster.
"I think we have a great base for what could be a really fantastic season," Quinney said.
Coastal begins the new season close to home with the Golfweek Fall Challenge at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C.
