MOBILE, Ala. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision to South Alabama on Thursday evening.

• With the loss, the Chanticleers move to 3-4-1 overall and 0-1-1 in Sun Belt play.
• South Alabama struck early as Andrea Iljkic scored back-to-back goals in the fourth and fifth minutes to give the Jaguars a 2-0 advantage.
• Aliya Gomes extended the lead to 3-0 in the 20th minute, firing a shot into the top left corner off an assist from Amelia Campanella.
• Coastal pulled one back in the 33rd minute when Eefje Botjer converted a penalty kick into the bottom left corner, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
• The Jaguars closed out the scoring in the 41st minute as Sydney Magliocca slotted home a shot to secure the 4-1 win.
• Goalkeeper Aris Lamanna tallied six saves, including four in the final 10 minutes of play.
• At the final whistle, the Chanticleers trailed 12-6 in shots while both teams finished even with seven corners each.

The Chanticleers return to Conway on Sunday to host Old Dominion at 5 p.m. ET.
