NEW ORLEANS, La. – Coastal Carolina juniors Adam Groves and Addison Laughlin have been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Groves won his second individual title of the season in the Chanticleer Challenge men's 8k last Friday with a time of 23:28.27, the third-quickest 8k in school history and the fastest 8k in the Chanticleer Challenge ever.
This is Groves' second Sun Belt weekly honor, after taking home Runner of the Week honors following the Elon Opener to begin the season.
Laughlin was the top Coastal finisher in the women's 5k at fifth place with a time of 17:41.74, setting a new personal-best. She is the first Chanticleer to win the Sun Belt Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week since Amilia Wise-Sweat in 2021.
The Chants are back in action on Friday, October 3 at the Firetower Project Run in Boone, N.C.
