Beaudet, Lord Earn ASUN Preseason Honors; Chanticleers Picked Third

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina junior Gabrielle Beaudet and senior Grace Lord were named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team on Thursday, while the Chanticleers were selected to finish third in the league's preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.

The preseason selections mark the first career honors for both Beaudet and Lord.

Coastal earned 62 points in the poll after finishing in a three-way tie for third place during the 2025 season alongside Lindenwood and Queens.

Liberty was chosen as the preseason favorite, collecting seven of nine first-place votes and 79 total points. Jacksonville followed in second with 63 points, edging Coastal by one point. New ASUN member Delaware received the remaining two first-place votes and was projected to finish fourth, followed by Lindenwood (44) and Queens (36). Kennesaw State (29), Stetson (20), and Austin Peay (12) rounded out the poll.

A Wake Forest, N.C., native, Beaudet started all 18 games last season as a midfielder. She scored 31 goals as a sophomore and returns as the team's second-leading scorer. Beaudet also recorded 37 draw controls, 21 ground balls, and 15 caused turnovers, including four-goal performances against Charlotte and Queens.

Lord started 17 games as a defender in her first season with the Chanticleers after transferring from La Salle a year ago. The Woodlyn, Pa., native led the team with 18 caused turnovers while adding 20 ground balls and 11 draw controls.

Coastal Carolina returns 20 letterwinners from last season's roster, including eight starters, and welcomes 12 newcomers ahead of the 2026 campaign.

The Chanticleers open the 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 6, hosting Longwood at noon inside Brooks Stadium.
