CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina junior right-handed pitcher Cameron Flukey has been selected as the 2026 Perfect Game Preseason Pitcher of the Year and a Preseason First Team All-American, as announced Wednesday by Perfect Game

During the 2025 season, Flukey appeared in 18 games with 17 starts and compiled a 7-2 record while logging 101.2 innings pitched. He posted a 3.19 ERA, struck out a team-best 118 batters while facing 414 hitters, and limited opponents to a .209 batting average. He allowed just 78 hits on the season and recorded a complete-game shutout against Marshall on April 18.

His breakout sophomore campaign earned him First Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors, a spot on the Sun Belt All-Tournament Team, and Third Team All-American recognition from D1Baseball.com.

Flukey continued to excel on college baseball's biggest stage during the postseason, delivering 22.0 innings with 25 strikeouts and a 3.27 ERA across four NCAA Tournament appearances. He was particularly dominant in the Men's College World Series, pitching 10.0 innings with 12 strikeouts and a 2.70 ERA in Omaha.

A key starter in wins over Auburn and Arizona, Flukey helped Coastal Carolina sweep the Auburn Super Regional and advance to the Men's College World Series for the first time since 2016. He anchored a pitching staff that posted a 3.00 team ERA during NCAA Tournament play and ranked among the top five nationally in ERA, WHIP, and strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Entering the 2026 season as a junior, Flukey is regarded as one of the top professional prospects in college baseball. According to MLB Pipeline, Flukey is the No. 9-ranked prospect for the 2026 MLB Draft. The 6-foot-6 right-hander features an elite fastball and curveball combination, a plus slider, and advanced control, striking hitters out at a near 30 percent rate during the 2025 season.

Coastal Carolina opens the 2026 season at home against Fairfield Stags baseball on Friday, Feb. 13, at Springs Brooks Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. in Conway, S.C.
