HOUSTON, Texas – Coastal Carolina dropped a 16-10 decision to UTSA on Saturday afternoon in their second game of the BRUCE BOLT College Classic at Daikin Park.
The Roadrunners jumped out early, building a 13-1 advantage before the Chanticleer offense found its rhythm in the fifth inning. Despite a five-run frame that trimmed the deficit, UTSA's bats proved too much to overcome.
Coastal's offense came alive in the bottom of the fifth, plating five runs to spark momentum. Dean Mihos recorded a pair of hits, including an RBI double, while Trace Mazon also collected two hits and delivered a two-run double. Colby Thorndyke added a double while going 2-for-4 on the day. As a team, the Chanticleers tallied seven doubles in the contest.
Coastal will wrap up their Houston trip on Sunday at 11:05 a.m. ET when they take on Ole Miss.
