MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men and women's track & field team will compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational this weekend at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Coastal won the women's side of the meet last season. 

Alan Connie served as the head track & field/cross country coach at Coastal Carolina for 31 seasons, winning Big South Coach of the Year 33 times. After his retirement in 2014, Connie received the designation of Head Coach Emeritus and the Shamrock Invitational was officially renamed the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.
