SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Coastal Carolina softball team suffered a 6–2 defeat to the Texas State Bobcats on Sunday afternoon in San Marcos, Texas.
Coastal took an early lead in the top of the first inning when
Kaelin Cash hit a sacrifice fly to center field, and
Libby Pippin followed with an RBI single to put the Chants up 2–0.
The Bobcats replied with one run in the bottom of the frame when Harley Vestal delivered an RBI single of her own to trim the lead to 2–1.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Sami Hood leveled the score with an RBI single down the left-field line to even the game at 2–2.
Texas State pulled away in the bottom of the sixth inning when Aiyana Coleman belted a grand slam to give the Bobcats the 6–2 win.
Kate Ryan dropped to 5–3 in the circle, allowing two runs on one hit over 1.0 inning of work.
