Men's Golf Maintains Lead After Second Round Of SBC Championship

MADISON, Miss. – Coastal Carolina continued to set the pace at the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf Championship, holding the team lead through 36 holes after Tuesday's second round at Annandale Golf Club.
The Chanticleers sit at 9-under par for the tournament after following an opening-round 282 with a 285 on Tuesday. Coastal enters Wednesday's final round of stroke play with a three-shot advantage over James Madison (-6), while Arkansas State is third at 5-under par.
Coastal was led individually by Max Bengtsson, who moved into first place on the player leaderboard at 8-under par after carding rounds of 70 and 66. Bengtsson's 6-under 66 in round two was the low round of the day and gives him a one-shot lead entering Wednesday.
Drew Sykes is tied for fifth overall at 4-under par following rounds of 70 and 70, giving the Chants two players inside the top five through two rounds.
Owen Kim climbed into a tie for 20th place at 1-over par after posting a 1-under 71 in Tuesday's second round. Jack Lee is tied for 28th at 2-over par and bounced back with a steady second-round 74 after opening with an even-par 72 on Monday. Lucas Arntsen is tied for 38th overall at 5-over par and remains in position to contribute entering the final round.
The final round of stroke play is scheduled for Wednesday morning at Annandale Golf Club. CCU will play alongside James Madison and Arkansas State, with the first group set to see off at 9 a.m. EDT.
The top four teams will advance to match play to determine the Sun Belt Conference champion.
